What Is BBL Hero?
BBL Hero is Sciton’s advanced broadband light treatment, a stronger, faster form of BBL photofacial. Pulses of visible light target pigment and blood vessels below the surface to lift brown spots, calm redness, and even skin tone.

How It Works
Broadband light heats targeted pigment and vessels. Brown spots absorb the energy and rise to the surface, then flake away over about a week. Redness fades as treated vessels are reabsorbed.
What Changes
Sun spots and freckling look lighter, diffuse redness settles, and tone reads more uniform. The Forever Young BBL protocol also supports collagen for a firmer, clearer look over a series.
Medical, Not a Day Spa Add-On
BBL Hero is a medical device treatment. FDA-cleared broadband light is used to a plan our board-certified providers set for your skin, not a one-size gadget facial.

Is BBL Hero Right for You?

A good fit if…
You have sun damage or brown spots
Freckling, age spots, and sun-related pigment on the face, chest, or hands respond well to broadband light.
You deal with facial redness
Diffuse redness and flushing associated with rosacea often calm with a planned BBL series.
Your tone looks uneven or dull
BBL Hero blends patchy tone and adds clarity for a smoother, more even complexion.
You want prevention and maintenance
The Forever Young BBL approach supports collagen and helps maintain clearer skin over time.
You want low downtime before an event
Most clients return to normal activity the same day, so it fits a busy schedule.
Consider an alternative if…
You have a fresh tan or recent sun exposure
Light and tanned skin need time apart for safety. Let’s plan your treatment for after the tan fades or during cooler months.
You are pregnant or nursing
We generally wait on elective light treatments during this time. Tell us and we will map out timing for later.
You have active melasma
Melasma can be light-sensitive. We assess it closely and may tailor a gentler plan so we do not aggravate it.
You have a deeper skin tone
Broadband light suits some skin tones better than others. We assess your skin and match you to the right option, which may be BBL Hero or a laser like Moxi.
What to Expect: Your BBL Hero Visit and Results
Here is what to expect from your results, stage by stage, so you know how they develop over time.
Before: Consult and Prep
We review your skin, history, and goals, then confirm your plan. Avoid sun and self-tanner for two weeks before, and come with clean, product-free skin on treatment day.
During: The Treatment
You wear protective eyewear. We glide the BBL Hero handpiece over the area, delivering rapid pulses of cooled light. Most facial treatments take 15-30 minutes and feel like a warm light snap.
Right After: Aftercare
Skin looks warm and slightly pink for a few hours, similar to mild sun exposure. You can resume your day right away. Wear SPF, skip heat and heavy workouts for 24-48 hours.
Your Results
Over 7-10 days, treated brown spots darken like coffee grounds, then flake away to reveal clearer skin. Redness improves progressively across a series, with tone continuing to even over the following weeks.
BBL Hero Results and How Long They Last

| Factor | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| Pigment correction | Treated brown spots that clear typically stay gone unless new sun damage forms; daily SPF is what protects your result. |
| Redness improvement | Redness responds best across a series; periodic maintenance sessions help keep flushing calm. |
| Maintenance cadence | Many clients return for a maintenance BBL every 6-12 months, or seasonally with a Forever Young plan. |
| Biggest variable | Unprotected sun exposure is the main reason pigment returns. Consistent SPF preserves results far longer. |
BBL Hero Safety, Side Effects and Contraindications

- Active infection, open lesion, or a cold sore in the area
- Recent use of isotretinoin or certain photosensitizing medications
