Is Microneedling Right for You?
Microneedling suits most skin types and tones. Here is where it shines and a few situations where a quick chat first helps us plan your best path.
A good fit if…

You want smoother texture, smaller-looking pores, or a fresher overall glow
You have soft acne scarring or early fine lines you would like to soften
You have sun-related texture or crepiness on the face, neck, or chest
You prefer a natural, gradual result that builds with a planned series
You want a treatment that works across a wide range of skin tones
Consider an alternative if…
Pregnant or nursing right now? Let’s plan your series for after, and book a consult so we are ready when you are.
On blood thinners or prone to easy bruising? Bring your medication list and we will tailor the approach together at your visit.
Have an active breakout or cold sore in the treatment area? Let’s reschedule that spot and treat the rest, just mention it when you book.
Not sure if microneedling or a chemical peel fits your goals? A consult gives you a real answer, and our providers will recommend the right plan with you.
When Will I See Microneedling Results?
Microneedling works by triggering your own collagen to rebuild, so results appear gradually and keep improving over the weeks that follow.
First few days
Skin looks flushed, like a mild sunburn, then calms. A subtle smoothness and glow begin to show.
1 to 2 weeks
Texture looks more even and refined as fresh collagen starts forming beneath the surface.
4 to 6 weeks
Peak collagen response lands. Scars and fine lines look softer and pores appear smaller.
Ongoing
Results build with a planned series of four. Many clients maintain with a session every few months.

Your Microneedling Visit, Step by Step
Here is what to expect in this part of your treatment at The Confidence Lab, so you know what happens and why it matters for your results.

01 Consult and prep
We review your goals and skin history, then cleanse and apply a topical numbing cream so the treatment stays comfortable from start to finish.
02 DermaPen 4 treatment
Your provider glides the DermaPen 4 across each zone, adjusting depth for delicate and resilient areas to create clean micro-channels that kick-start collagen.
03 Soothe and seal
We apply a calming serum, or your PRP if you chose the enhanced option, to nourish the fresh channels and support faster recovery.
04 Aftercare and plan
You leave with clear aftercare steps and a personalized plan, often the Series of 4, to build the strongest, longest-lasting result.
Before, During, and After Your Microneedling Session
- Give retinoids and exfoliating acids a few days off beforehand, so your skin starts calm.
- Keep the areas we are treating out of strong sun in the days leading up to your visit.
- Arrive with those areas clean and free of makeup.
- Mention your medications when you book, plus any tendency to bruise easily or a cold sore or blemish near the treatment areas.
- There is nothing to apply at home. We cleanse and numb the area here, before your provider begins.
- Your provider works zone by zone, dialing the DermaPen 4 shallower over delicate areas and deeper where skin is more resilient.
- The sensation most people report is light pressure with a steady vibration, not pain.
- We open a new sterile cartridge for every session, single use only.
- Adding PRP means a quick blood draw first; your own plasma then goes on while the micro-channels are fresh.
- Plan on roughly an hour in the room, from cleanse through the calming serum at the end.
- Warmth and a pink flush are normal on day one and can linger up to three days.
- Keep the routine simple for the first day or two: gentle cleanser, plain moisturizer, no scrubs or acids.
- Sunscreen every morning, and avoid direct sun until the pink has faded.
- Skip hard workouts and anything that leaves you sweating over that same first day or two.
- We book your next session before you leave and space it to the plan your provider maps with you.
